Hey I could use a little help. Suddenly this afternoon my FT-5 Z axis is not working. I turned it off, swapped the Y and Z plugs and bada-bing when I turned it on I could move the Z by hitting the Y button. I could not move Y with the Z button though. So I changed them back and the next step was to swap stepper drivers with Extruder #2. Still no Z movement. I checked the voltage on the driver and its at 5v. Is my MKS board fried? How can I verify that?
I don't even think they go up to 5v. I'm hoping you mean 0.5v. If so, this is too low. The setting is in the manual.
I'm assuming you have the R1 version.
Yes sorry I meant 0.5V I have done everything conceivably possible that I can think of. I verified that the steppers work by swapping to the Y port. I changed to a new board. I moved around the drivers. I even completely rewired the whole printer. My next step is to change to one Z stepper, I'm waiting on the parts. I don't know what else to do.
It says that the vRef on the Z stepper driver should be set to 0.9-1.3v. Have you tried upping the vRef? 0.5v is much too low.
