So first design is complete. I will try to get everything printed this weekend.
First parts are ready and do fit nicely. Still printing the shroud. Can't dismount yet
Some feedback : I've been using these locks now for numerous prints and hours, and there is absolutely no sign that they loose their grip on the belt. So for me they are doing an excellent job.Disconnecting the belt and reinstalling it is a matter of 'seconds'
and i printed it, thank you again @Walte!
Looks nice! I see you are using a belt tensioner. I thought they were of questionable value?
Yes. In fact I could remove it. It ran most of the time without with no issues. The one advantage it has is that you actually see that the belt is tensioned well. More as an indicator.
Be careful with those spring tensioners as you are putting a spring on a belt that is not supposed to change dimensions. I don't understand why John is still including them to be honest. Maybe he has a ton that he is trying to get through.
I wondered that myself, they seem awfully strong.I don't use them and have only had to do one minor tweak to the Y belts so far, probably due to the end "clamp" method. The X and Z remain tensioned exactly as I installed them.
