Has anyone tried printing with TPU filament yet?
I have the stock extruder and hot end, right now, and was thinking of printing a prototype phone case I am designing for a customer of mine. It needs to be slightly flexible/rubberish that's why I was thinking of TPU. I'm open to any other filament suggestions as well.
I have a sample of TPU I got in my makerbox. I have not tried it yet as I am unsure if any of my extruders can feed it correctly. I'll let you know if I try.
i have moded extruder..and the flexion.. but tpu works some times real slow with the original extruder but can fail at any time... just try it and find out
I just looked up that flexion looks pretty nice. I ordered a new extruder but didn't know much about this stuff at the time (still don't) it's a BIQU MK8 metal dual head extruder. Also a bltouch, still haven't designed how I'm going to mount it all so it's just sitting to the side for now.
I was reading up on a manufacturer website about the TPU print speed and they were recommending 10-20mm/s max. Does that sound about right.
Well I ordered some it will be here tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
I was able to print with TPU with the stock setup. Took a little tinkering with speeds feeds and temp but I'm fairly happy with the results.
cbarkle, could you elaborate and let us know what speed and temps you got it to work at?
speeds, temps, filament brand and colour, retraction settings, etc...
would all be good to know...
some photos of results too, if it's not too much to ask!
