I keep seeing 2 different kinds of vibration dampening mounts but am guessing they are more for C an C applications. Anyone have any experience with them as pertains to 3d printing? I am going to try these out but am still very curious...
I've printed some in ICE flex (a local brand in Belgium). It is a co-polyester wit a strain at break of 530%.I mounted them between the Y-steppers and their support. Can't see that much difference.Noise is successfully countered with the TMC's. The fans are now the noisiest part.Vibration is mainly caused by acceleration and jerk.
Thanks @Walter, couldn't agree more, fix the cause not the symptom LOL we will see how mine comes together hopefully soon!
There is only so much vibration you can remove by changing drivers and/or steppers. Because of the way steppers work, you will always have vibration generated. This is where the dampeners and isolators come into play.
you my friend make a very good point. 3d printing somehow seems mechanically violent compared to most of the mechanized electronics i am familiar with...
