I have been printing for weeks now but ...
My Y Rails just this AM became Jerky !
After making adjustments to my Y belts due to Coming OFF the Turnarounds I noticed that that the belts were getting Freyed .
After doing a lot of recent Printings,
today it just started loosing registration with the Y axis being the Culprit.
I took apart the belts and found that the linear rails were not running smoothly.
Lots of Shredded Belt edge particles to blame.
I then disassembled the whole carriage, sigh ...
I ALMOST ordered some new rails but decided to investigate doing a thorough Cleaning.
Ultimately and reluctantly I sprayed some Eye Glass cleaner on the "balls" and then cleaned off the Rail grooves. What a pile of goopy particles !
Wah Lah !!! the rails are back to Smooth ops.
IMHO Using NO OIL sounds like the sound way to proceed as Oil will just attract and accumulate dust and particles.
So Now I have to figure out WHY the belts are coming OFF the Turnarounds as they "appear" to be level and inline - ?!?!
I have ordered some WHITE belting and some bearinged Turnarounds with Wider Flanges.
Failing some better advice HERE I'll be back to report my results when the parts arrive.
