Hey all. I've got a couple of Folgertech printers, but the FT5 is my main one. I'm attempting something different. The idea is based on t-shirt printers. xyzprinting has a FFM printer that adds color using an inkjet. I'm building something different. It would help people to experiment with UV material jetting, powder based binder jetting, tshirt printing and even flatbed printing etc.
Part of what I want is already done thanks to OpenDTG.com. 2 pins from the inkjet encoder are being monitored by an Arduino. When the inkjet tries to move the paper, Nema 17s are moving the inkjet along the y axis of the bed. The printer moves to an endstop and prints from there. I have the frame and motors working.
What I need to know now is:
1 where to wire the encoder to the mks gen 1.4, and
2 where to add the code that monitors and reacts to the encoder into Marlin.
Can anyone give some guidance?
