Meet "The Boron"
This is a total conversion for the Folgertech FT5-r2. The result is a CoreXY printer, with a belt-driven, quad-leveling gantry. I call it the "Boron" because it's a bstrd version of the Voron printer -- essentially all the neat bells and whistle features, while using as many of the same parts as possible.
It took 6 months from start to finish, and the result is a truly next-gen FT5. Check out the thingiverse page that I created here:

Feature Improvements:
- Fixed bed
- Magnetic removable bed plate (with PEI)
- Quad-gantry bed mesh leveling
- Belt-driven z-axis at 0.0025 max resolution (80:16 gear ratio)
- Mains (AC) heated bed (heats in less than 30 seconds)
- CoreXY kinematics
- Klipper software
- Octoprint
If there is genuine interest in converting your FT5 to this monstrosity, I can put together a BOM on some of the major components that you will need to purchase. Otherwise, this post is here to serve as inspiration to the community of some directions that you can take this printer. STLs and images are available at the above thingiverse link.
Closing thoughts: I've only finished this printer a few days ago. The prints come out far better than the stock machine, and the quality of life upgrades are truly next-gen. Happy modding!
