I read many of the posts and watched some videos of attempts at dual color on the FT-6 and noted the need to retract the filament enough to get out of the way of the color change. I ran some tests seeing how far I needed to go and 50 worked for me. How I did this was extrude the black, then retract, then extrude clear. Once I stopped hearing the extruder popping, and got the clear to appear, this was my retraction distance. Need to remember to reset the black and get the clear retracted when iterating through the retraction distances.
I grabbed a dual color fff from the facebook group and used it to modify to my S3D settings. I think the only change was I punched in 50 for color change retraction.
Also did not know I needed a model for each color, I used this model https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21773
Here is the S3D writeup I referenced: https://www.simplify3d.com/support/articles/printing-with-multiple-extruders/
Next, I loaded both STLs into S3d and made sure they are aligned, and selected color for each model, and then sliced and print.
