I tried his suggestion and it was a nightmare to clean the silicone contamination off my PEI sheet. Nothing would stick to it anymore. Tried various solvents and nothing would remove it. Ended up finding a NASA white paper on removing silicone contamination. Even they had problems with it, but had some suggestions for strong alkaline. (Turns out silicone oil is banned in most any factory that has anything to do with painting, coating, plating, soldering, etc, because it is so difficult to remove.)
Hexane, dichloromethane, and scrubbing with lye based drain cleaner finally got it clean enough to work again.
Silicone oil is banned from my 'factory' too now. I had no idea the stuff was so pernicious. Live and learn I guess...
