I was so frustrated and mad that day, I knew better than to reply. I've always prided myself on being respectful to other people, even online where so many people feel free to type things they would never have the nerve to say to someone's face. So, thank you Chris for accepting my apology!
And now for the eating of the crow... The pins that I bought for the stepper motor connectors are pure garbage. I ended up having to use the connectors that came with the two Titan extruders I bought and I soldered the pigtails from them into the wiring harness. Yep, irony is a bitch.
I'm still banging my head against the wall on some stuff. I finally have everything wired. This whole thing would have gone so much smoother if my kit would have had all the connectors but it is what it is. I'm inching closer to maybe getting something to print. I can't get the bltouch working yet. X and Y home and then the gantry moves to the center of the build plate like it should. The Z begins to home and then stops. After Z stops, the probe deploys and then retracts and that's all she wrote.
I plugged in the normal end stop and was able to get everything to home. I started a print and after about the third layer I realized that the nozzle was cutting into the previous layers instead of printing on top of them, derp. I need to get S3D configured correctly. I need to do some reading up on how to deal with multiple printers with S3D. I know better than to just go barreling into this stuff without making sure I have a decent handle on setting things up but, we all know how tempting it is to try to run before walking.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll get there. I can at least see the finish line now. I'll probably write up something tomorrow with some questions I have because while I was trying to print, the amount of vibration and the general sound while the gantry is running seems off to me. I tried to auto-tune the PIDs and the hot end still overshoots by about 10 degrees and then oscillates. On the plus side, the 110 AC silicone heater pad and SSR that I installed are working great, so far. So, it's not all bad.
